These are public meetings and all are welcome to attend. The Rural Municipality of Crapaud would like to publicly thank Fire Chief Chris Paynter, the Crapaud Fire Department and volunteers who opened the fire hall during the aftermath of Hurricane Dorian to provide people with a place to get water, warmth, information and charge their cell phones - once again proving how invaluable volunteers are to the residents of Crapaud and surrounding area. ________________________________________________ Nominations for the 2019 Crapaud Citizen/Volunteer of the Year
Nominations are now being accepted for the 2019 Crapaud Citizen/Volunteer of the Year Award. This award recognizes significant contributions in many areas including volunteer work, artistic achievement, fundraising, community activities, education, professionalism, fitness/recreation, and other activities. The deadline to submit nominations is Friday, July 19th, 2019. Congratulations to Ruth Walsh, winner of the 2018 Citizen/Volunteer Award! Nominated by Joanne Harvey, Ruth has been volunteering with several local organizations for many years. Congratulations to Jennifer Stewart, this year's recipient of the Crapaud Council Award at Bluefield High School. Of all the applications received, Jennifer's was by far the best, listing her top marks and many volunteer positions in the community. The Crapaud Walk-In Clinic, located in the South Shore Pharmacy, opened its doors on January 23rd. Clinic hours are Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. In addition, a Nurse Practitioner is available by appointment all day on Wednesdays. (Formerly Mondays) It is recommended before you set out that you call first or check the South Shore Health & Wellness Inc.
