The Rural Municipality of Crapaud would like to publicly thank Fire Chief Chris Paynter, the Crapaud Fire Department and volunteers who opened the fire hall during the aftermath of Hurricane Dorian to provide people with a place to get water, warmth, information and charge their cell phones - once again proving how invaluable volunteers are to the residents of Crapaud and surrounding area.

Council meetings are now held on the third Tuesday of every month at 7:00 pm at the Crapaud Community Hall. These are public meetings and all are welcome to attend. If you wish to speak or present an issue during a Council meeting, please contact the office at 902-658-2558 at least 48 hours prior to the meeting day so you can be added to the agenda.
Due to scheduling conflicts, the August meeting of Crapaud Council has been cancelled.
The next Council meeting will be on Tuesday September 17th at the Crapaud Community Hall starting at 7pm. Public are welcome.

The Council of the Rural Municipality of Crapaud wants to invite the public to attend a special meeting to discuss the request from the Crapaud Exhibition Association to acquire land surrounding the Exhibition grounds currently owned by the Community.
This meeting will discuss Council’s position on the subject and allow the public to comment before Council takes the issue to vote at their regular council meeting on August 20th at 7pm. (corrected date)
Council will gladly receive public input on the issue by email at email@example.com or phone at 902-658-2558 up until the date and time of the public meeting.
Nominations for the 2019 Crapaud Citizen/Volunteer of the Year
Nominations are now being accepted for the 2019 Crapaud Citizen/Volunteer of the Year Award. This award recognizes significant contributions in many areas including volunteer work, artistic achievement, fundraising, community activities, education, professionalism, fitness/recreation, and other activities.
The deadline to submit nominations is Friday, July 19th, 2019. For more information and the nomination package, click on the link Crapaud Citizen/Volunteer of the Year Award to the left or contact the Crapaud Council office.

The Rural Municipality of Crapaud has called a By-election to fill the Vacant positions of Mayor and 2 Councillors.

Crapaud Council calls Special Meeting
DATE: Wednesday April 24, 2019

This meeting is needed to discuss By-Election and appoint a Municipal Election Officer to oversee the election process.
A special council meeting on 2019-2020 Budget will be held on Tues. April 9 beginning at 7 pm at the Crapaud Hall. The public are welcome to attend.
The special meeting of the Crapaud Council scheduled for Saturday March 23rd has been cancelled.
Due to weather, the Public Budget Presentation to be held tonight will be postponed to Wed March 6 at 7 pm at the Library.
There will be a closed meeting of Council for the Rural Municipality of Crapaud held Thursday Feb 28 at 5:30 pm at the Crapaud Community Office per Section 119 (1)(e) of the Municipal Government Act.
CRAPAUD CITIZEN/VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR AWARD
Congratulations to Ruth Walsh, winner of the 2018 Citizen/Volunteer Award! Nominated by Joanne Harvey, Ruth has been volunteering with several local organizations for many years. The award was presented at the Community BBQ on Friday July 27th.
CRAPAUD COMMUNITY COUNCIL AWARD WINNER
Congratulations to Jennifer Stewart, this year's recipient of the Crapaud Council Award at Bluefield High School. Of all the applications received, Jennifer's was by far the best, listing her top marks and many volunteer positions in the community. Jennifer will receive her award during graduation ceremonies at Bluefield High School.
Crapaud Walk-In Clinic adds Nurse Practitioner!
The Crapaud Walk-In Clinic, located in the South Shore Pharmacy, opened its doors on January 23rd. Clinic hours are Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
In addition, a Nurse Practitioner is available by appointment all day on Wednesdays. (Formerly Mondays)
It is recommended before you set out that you call first or check the South Shore Health & Wellness Inc. Face Book page on the day of your visit to make sure the doctor is in.
